Hi there, and welcome to our audio newsletter.

Because why read when you can listen? In this issue, we'll dive into one small tweak that could help people listen longer.

So say hello to our coolest new feature, Background music. Because sometimes, the smallest audio choices make the biggest difference.

Over a short comparison period, we looked at listening behavior across similar content, some with background music, some without. Same environment, same format, only one small difference, the presence of music.

What we found was interesting.

Content with background music showed clear improvements across key listening metrics.

Completion rates increased by up to 9%, while listen-through rates saw an uplift of up to 7% over the same period. Average listening time also increased, indicating that listeners stayed engaged for longer once they pressed play.

It's a subtle layer that made the listening experience feel smoother, more intentional, and easier to stay with.

Which reinforces something we’ve been thinking about for a while: background music isn’t decoration, it’s part of the listening architecture.

When done right, it helps content flow, reduces drop-off, and keeps listeners oriented without demanding attention.

Background music doesn’t change the content, it changes how people stay with it. So if this small layer can change how people stay with your content, why wait?

If you’re curious to explore this further, feel free to reach out to us directly or to your account manager.

That's all for today. So, until next time, let the music take you further.
